Roberto Maci

Roberto Maci studied painting and sculpture at the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in Architecture in Florence in 1986.

Between 1988 and 1991 he worked with Massimo Losa Ghini developing various interior design projects: Discoclub Bolido, New York; Concept car dealers Renault Italia, Fiorucci stores. In those years he established his own studio in Bologna, dealing mainly with architecture and design.

 In 1998 he created LAB+ "Bioecologic architecture laboratory", an initiative aiming at spreading the culture of an environmentally conscious living. The studio, characterized by a flexibe and dynamic structure designs and builds buildings, commercial areas and design objects focusing on how forms are used, on techniques and materials which allow a natural construction.

Since 2006 the studio was active abroad as well and has realized two stores of a food franchiser in Beijing and the first American DondiSofa store in Dallas. He designs for companies in the field of furniture and furniture accessories such as Vistosi, RDS, Mandarina Duck, Target, Prandina, Sofart, and Pellizzoni.
